Ruins of Lordaeron is a level 15–20 five-player dungeon introduced during the opening WoW Forever beta phase. Blizzard confirms the level bracket and the Lordaeron setting. The entrance pin, quest pickups, encounter route and drops below are beta player reports, not final launch data.

Before you enter

The player-recorded entrance pin is 71.6, 11.4 in Tirisfal Glades. This is a report from the beta, so check the map and your current build if the approach changes. For Horde players, the most useful preparation is collecting the four outside quests before traveling to the dungeon:

QuestReported pickupGoal
The Wrath of Rath'maelDeathguard Kristof, southeast of BrillDefeat Rath'mael
Light's JusticeMorbin Lightbane, Royal Quarter in UndercityCollect Intact Limbs
A Frightened RequestTabitha Heartweaver, The Sepulcher in Silverpine ForestInvestigate Edward Heartweaver
The New PlagueTheodore Griffs, Apothecarium in UndercityObtain the strain from Witherfang

Players report that the outside quests become available around levels 15–16, but the individual requirements differ. The table is a Horde beta checklist; it does not describe an Alliance quest route. Verify your quest log before setting out.

Inside quests and flexible boss route

Two additional Horde quests have been reported inside: Unending Torment starts from the Abominable Head dropped by The Baron, while Crest of Lordaeron starts from a crest item found in the instance. Players have reported the crest in more than one location, so do not rely on a single fixed spawn point.

Where is Othmar in WoW Forever?

Searches for Othmar in WoW Forever are tied to the Unending Torment quest chain rather than to a separate standalone NPC route. The relevant quest step is Unending Torment (quest 97289): after obtaining the Head of the Baron from Ruins of Lordaeron, the Horde objective sends you into Undercity to bring that head to the body of Othmar.

Player guides place the body at approximately 46.0, 62.1 in the Undercity area. Treat that coordinate as beta guidance rather than a permanent launch location. The quest text and dialogue identify the body as Othmar, and community documentation connects him to Othmar Garithos.

If your objective says to bring the Head of the Baron to Othmar, you do not need another dungeon run once you already have the head: follow the quest into Undercity and look for the body around the reported coordinate.

This dungeon page remains the canonical guide for the Othmar / Unending Torment context so the same intent is not split across duplicate pages.

This is an open layout. One player-described route, ordered roughly by proximity to the entrance, is:

  1. Witherfang patrols the spider area near the entrance and is the target for The New Plague.
  2. The Baron is reached by taking the path to the right; check for the Abominable Head quest item.
  3. Viktor the Vile appears after interacting with the fireplace in a ruined house and surviving several waves.
  4. The Abandoned is summoned through a separate statue event near the ruined house.
  5. Bjork patrols farther along the route.
  6. Rath'mael is the target of the outside kill quest.

The same reports say these encounters do not have a mandatory fixed order. A Lordaeron Captain rare also appears in player loot reports. Client-derived lists and player runs disagree on the total roster, so this is a navigation aid rather than a definitive seven-boss map.

For the fireplace and statue events, players describe repeated enemy waves. Allow the group to recover mana and health before activating them. No official encounter guide or validated in-house map is available yet; a community terrain map can help with orientation, but its boss and quest counts should be treated as beta data.

Loot status

Wowhead player comments report examples including Segmented Spider Leg from Witherfang, Meathook Slicer from The Baron, Vileblood Scimitar from Viktor the Vile and Mirror of Rath'mael from Rath'mael. These are incomplete player-reported drops, not a verified final loot table. Check the current client before planning a farm around one item.

The other Phase 1 dungeon is Hall of Thanes at levels 13–18. See the dungeon overview for all nine announced instances and WoW Forever quests for broader quest help.

Evidence note, October 4: Level range, setting and beta availability are official. The entrance pin, Horde pickups, boss route, Othmar coordinate, event tips and loot are player or community reports. The Alliance pickups added below remain reports; full map, exact roster and final drops still need direct verification.

Alliance pickups and the Othmar handoff

Method's October 15 run guide lists four Alliance checks inside the instance: Crest of Lordaeron, Abominable Creatures from Captain Truman, Bloodied Insignia from skeletons, and Remember That I Love You. Treat these as reported beta pickups, not shared Horde offers or a guaranteed full quest log. Inspect the objects and NPC offers before your group leaves.

For Horde, keep the outside four-quest checklist separate from Unending Torment and its Undercity return. If you already have the Head of the Baron, follow that step's objective instead of resetting the dungeon. The quest record is Unending Torment, 97289; matching the quest step matters more than searching for another boss.

Encounter cues, not a compulsory boss order

Method describes The Baron's Knockout, Bjork's Anti-Magic Shield and Rath'mael's Flamestrike. Plan healing around the first, respect the shield rather than assuming uninterrupted spell damage, and move out of the ground effect. No numerical damage thresholds or universal dispel promise are implied.

Before activating a fireplace or statue event, get the group's agreement and recover resources. Confirm which members still need quest objects before clearing an optional wing; a kill does not complete an unaccepted quest.

Put the party's plan ahead of a damage rotation

Agree on the tank, healing, interrupt and crowd-control assignments before the first pull. Keep pets on a deliberate target and leave controlled enemies untouched. A class macro can simplify targeting, but cannot decide whether a pull is safe. Review your role in Classes.

Gear lookup before deciding to farm

These examples come from the existing September 24, 42-item beta snapshot; no new October item capture is claimed. Minimum levels below are item-use requirements, not dungeon-entry levels. Boss attribution, full stats, class restrictions and final drop rates are not established by this dataset.
