WoW Forever Dungeons: All 9 Confirmed Locations

WoW Forever launches with nine new dungeons. See every confirmed location, what Blizzard has revealed, and what maps, bosses, quests, and loot await beta.

World of Warcraft: Forever has nine new dungeons confirmed for original Azeroth. Blizzard has named the locations and given story context for several of them, but complete maps, boss rosters, level brackets, quests, and loot tables still need beta verification.

All nine confirmed Forever dungeons

Dungeon / locationWhat Blizzard has revealed
Hall of ThanesA dungeon beneath Ironforge
Ruins of LordaeronIncludes helping the Forsaken reclaim the ruins
Excavation site above Whelgar's ExcavationA mysterious site connected to the Wetlands location
City of DalaranStrange magical trouble in the old city
Blackmaw HoldCorruption stirring in its depths
Drowned CityNaga and pirates are part of the surrounding threat
Krol'dok StrongholdConfirmed dungeon location
Alcaz PrisonConfirmed dungeon location
Shaper's TerraceConnected to titan mysteries in Un'Goro

Blizzard's wording for the excavation dungeon is descriptive rather than a finalized title in the panel recap, so this site will keep that label until the in-game dungeon name is verified.

Why dungeons are a major guide opportunity

Community interest is already unusually specific. In a highly engaged demo AMA, one of the standout questions was simply "Dungeon maps?" — and the answer was effectively that players did not have them yet.

That is a better signal than a generic pre-release keyword list. It tells us players expect to need:

  • entrance locations;
  • route maps;
  • boss order;
  • dungeon quests;
  • loot tables;
  • shortcuts or dangerous pulls;
  • recommended level ranges;
  • class or group preparation.

Those needs will shape the post-beta dungeon pages.

How this hub will work

/dungeons/ owns the broad "WoW Forever dungeons" search intent. Once beta data is available, each dungeon can receive a stable entity page such as /dungeons/hall-of-thanes/ with its own entrance, map, bosses, quests, loot, and strategy.

We will not create separate thin pages for "Hall of Thanes entrance," "Hall of Thanes loot," and "Hall of Thanes guide" unless those search intents become large enough to need separate answers. The dungeon entity page should handle them together first.

What Blizzard has confirmed about the stories

The panel recap gives useful hints about why these locations exist:

  • the Forsaken have a reason to return to the Ruins of Lordaeron;
  • Dalaran is dealing with unusual magical trouble;
  • Un'Goro is tied to titan mysteries;
  • the Drowned City involves naga and pirates;
  • Blackmaw Hold contains unsettling corruption.

That is enough to establish identity, but not enough to invent mechanics, boss names, or loot.

Dungeon maps: publish after verification, not before

The planned map workflow is to record routes directly from beta:

  1. entrance and world coordinates;
  2. room order and branching paths;
  3. boss locations;
  4. quest NPCs;
  5. notable skips, shortcuts, or dead ends;
  6. important trash packs or mechanics where they matter.

If map demand remains strong across all nine dungeons, we may maintain a single /dungeons/maps/ index that links into the individual dungeon pages. We will not maintain duplicate map text in two places.

What we still need from beta

For every dungeon, the missing launch-quality data includes:

  • exact level range or entry requirements;
  • entrance coordinates;
  • full map;
  • boss roster and mechanics;
  • dungeon quests;
  • loot and drop sources;
  • lockout or reset rules;
  • whether any dungeon changes during the beta window.

Pre-release note: the nine locations above are Blizzard-confirmed. Boss names, loot, maps, and recommended levels are intentionally not guessed.
