WoW Forever Classes & Class Changes

Track confirmed WoW Forever class changes, new abilities, talent updates, and race/class combinations without treating preview builds as final beta data.

World of Warcraft: Forever keeps class identity at the center of the game while adding new abilities, new race/class combinations, and talent or ability updates. Blizzard's stated goal is to fill meaningful gaps without flattening the differences that make one class valuable compared with another.

This page is the class-change hub. Individual class build pages will not be published until beta gives us reliable spell, talent, rotation, and leveling data.

Blizzard's class-design goal

The Forever team says class changes should preserve the feel of the original game while opening new possibilities. The key ideas in the official reveal are:

  • class identity should remain obvious;
  • new abilities should be noticeable rather than cosmetic;
  • new race/class combinations are part of the launch plan;
  • talent and ability changes should create meaningful trade-offs;
  • Blizzard does not want every class to solve the same problems in the same way.

That last point is important for guides. A good Forever class page should explain what a class uniquely contributes rather than reduce every choice to a single damage ranking.

Confirmed Skyborne class access

Skyborne are the only race for which Blizzard has published a detailed faction-specific class split so far.

For the wider race/class matrix, use Race/Class Combinations & Racials.

Why we are not publishing nine "best build" pages yet

Interest in class changes is already high, and large guide sites have started reserving class-guide pages. That does not make preview data final.

Before a class guide can be useful, we need to verify:

  • the live beta spellbook;
  • talent locations and point requirements;
  • rank values and scaling;
  • leveling breakpoints;
  • class quests and ability unlocks;
  • actual rotations rather than demo assumptions;
  • gear interactions;
  • PvE and PvP differences.

Publishing thin Warrior, Mage, Paladin, or Shaman pages now would create URLs that compete with one another before they have enough unique information. Our current rule is simple: the hub owns broad class-change intent until each class has enough verified data to deserve its own page.

What beta will change on this page

Once beta opens, this hub will become the index for individual class guides. Each class page will focus on its own search intent: changes, talents, leveling, rotation, gear, and class-specific quests.

The full talent-tree data belongs in WoW Forever Talents so class pages can link to one canonical calculator instead of duplicating the same tree in multiple places.

Community interest is already concentrated on changes

The strongest community discussion so far is not "what is a Warrior?" It is what changed, what new combination is possible, and which preview talents or abilities actually matter. That is why this site is not recreating decades of general World of Warcraft class documentation.

Forever-specific differences are the useful part.

Pre-release note: class balance, exact ability values, talent positions, and build recommendations remain provisional until beta data can be checked directly.
