WoW Forever Leveling Guide: Levels 1–20 & 1–30

Plan WoW Forever beta leveling from 1–20 and the later 1–30 cap, including talent points, dungeons, gear, professions and what is not live yet.

The current WoW Forever beta route ends at level 20; level 30 is a later beta phase, not additional content you can assume is open today. Build a clean 1–20 route now, finish the two week-one dungeons, and treat every 20–30 plan as preparation until Blizzard opens that phase.

Beta cap and talent budget

*The extra-point model is a planning interpretation of the five-rank Talented description, corroborated by the fixed beta talent export and Wowhead's spell record. It does not assume your account has already earned or equipped the Legacy perk.

Levels 1–10: establish the character

  1. Complete the local starting chain instead of traveling early for an imagined speed route.
  2. Train the abilities you actually use and keep enough money for the next important rank.
  3. Equip clear weapon or armor upgrades rather than waiting for a theoretical best-in-slot item.
  4. Pick up gathering professions early if you want materials while questing.
  5. At level 10, begin spending the normal class talent point budget.

Skyborne begin on Zephras Isle, whose official starting experience runs from levels 1–12. Other races should not copy that route; use their own starting zones.

Levels 10–13: build the first identity

By level 13, your first tree should answer a simple question: how does this character avoid downtime?

  • Pet classes improve pet reliability or damage.
  • Melee characters reduce resource friction or improve their core builder.
  • Casters improve the spell they cast most often or reduce misses and interruption.
  • Healers should keep a solo damage plan even if their dungeon role is healing.

The nine class build pages provide an 11-point level-20 plan without pretending it is the only viable allocation.

Levels 13–18: Hall of Thanes window

Blizzard lists Hall of Thanes as a level 13–18 week-one dungeon. Use it when you have relevant quests and a complete group; repeated blind farming is not automatically faster than continuing nearby quest chains.

Before entering:

  • repair and clear bag space;
  • train role-defining abilities;
  • bring food, water and class reagents;
  • agree on crowd-control marks and a kill order;
  • remember that Threat and controlled pulls are intentional Forever mechanics.

See the Hall of Thanes guide for confirmed scope.

Levels 15–20: Ruins of Lordaeron and cap cleanup

Blizzard lists Ruins of Lordaeron for levels 15–20. Finish remaining zone chains, dungeon quests and profession milestones before treating the cap as an endgame.

At level 20:

  • validate your 11-point build in the Talent Calculator;
  • finish both available dungeons at least once if your test goal includes group content;
  • record blocked or broken quests instead of repeatedly burning time on them;
  • test professions and Camping rather than stockpiling for an unannounced recipe path;
  • expect progress to be wiped when beta ends.

Later levels 20–30

Blizzard has confirmed the cap will increase to 30, but the beta-opening post does not provide a complete 20–30 route or opening date. The safe preparation is:

  1. Keep several completed turn-ins only if the beta rules allow them; do not assume stored quests survive a phase change.
  2. Plan a 21-point class build, but recheck it against the live build before spending.
  3. Watch the Beta Build Tracker for a verified phase change.
  4. Do not publish or follow a server-side quest route that has not been reproduced after the cap opens.

Gear while leveling

Blizzard says Forever combines spell/melee/ranged Hit into one Hit stat and does the same for Critical Strike. Caster-oriented weapons can carry spell damage and healing, while bonus healing also supplies one third as much bonus damage. Those changes make more upgrades useful to hybrid and healing characters, but they do not create a universal stat priority for every class.

Prefer this order:

  1. a meaningful weapon upgrade for weapon-dependent classes;
  2. enough primary stats and survivability to avoid deaths and drinking after every pull;
  3. Hit or other reliability stats when the item is otherwise appropriate;
  4. role-specific bonuses for the content you are actually testing.
