Warrior Build

WoW Forever Warrior Guide: Builds, Gear & Macros

Plan a WoW Forever Warrior for solo play, tanking or PvP with early gear sources, preparation and macros, while keeping archived talent builds clearly dated.

Snapshot boundary: The beta is closed. The level-20/30 talent tables below are archived examples for fixed build 1.60.1.69876, not current level caps or verified level-60 builds. Role choices are editorial guidance; announced class mechanics have their own source.

Fury is the cleanest general leveling plan for a Warrior who wants reliable early damage without locking into a dungeon-tank build. Protection remains the better planning tree when your main beta goal is tanking, while Arms is the alternative for players who want Rend, Overpower and a two-handed weapon path.

Choose the activity before choosing gear

ActivityPractical decision
Solocompare the archived Fury example with Arms if you prefer two-handed attacks; plan recovery between pulls.
Dungeon tankuse a shield, threat tools and controlled pulls; do not treat the Fury table as a tank build.
PvPbudget Rage for control and stance decisions, not only damage; agree on peel and interrupt targets.

A Forever change worth checking

Blizzard describes damage-taken Rage as ignoring armor and absorption effects. Do not copy Classic advice that a Priest shield necessarily prevents Warrior Rage. This is an announced mechanic, not our measurement of current Rage generation. Blizzard — class deep dive, announced mechanics.

Level 20 Fury build — 11 points

TalentRank
Booming Voice5/5
Cruelty5/5
Piercing Howl1/1

Cruelty supports consistent weapon damage, Booming Voice improves shout coverage, and Piercing Howl supplies control when a pull goes wrong. This plan spends exactly 11 points and passes the fixed snapshot's row and prerequisite rules.

Level 30 Fury extension — 21 points

Keep the level-20 points, then add:

TalentAdded rank
Boundless Rage3/3
Improved Cleave3/3
Raging Blows1/1
Enrage2/5
Death Wish1/1

This is an editorial leveling plan, not a claim that Fury leads beta DPS. If your group needs a tank, reset into Protection and use the calculator to preserve a separate build.

Combat priority

  1. Start with Charge when the pull allows it and keep Battle Shout active.
  2. Use your normal weapon attacks to build Rage; do not spend Rage so aggressively that emergency control becomes unavailable.
  3. Use Heroic Strike on a single target and Cleave when the extra target is safe.
  4. Use Piercing Howl to create distance or prevent a fleeing enemy from reaching another pack.
  5. In a dungeon, prioritize Threat, positioning and controlled pulls over a solo damage sequence.

Gear direction

Weapon upgrades matter most while leveling. Strength, Stamina and appropriate Hit/Critical Strike gear are useful directions, but the beta does not yet support a universal Best-in-Slot list. Tanks should value shield and mitigation upgrades over copying this Fury plan.

Open the Talent Calculator to test Arms, Fury or Protection alternatives.

Early gear sources and alternatives

These are lookup examples from the 42-item loot snapshot, reviewed September 24, not new October item testing or a BiS ranking. That dataset does not contain full attributes, class restrictions or confirmed boss attribution. Inspect the actual tooltip, trained weapon type and role before rolling; two items in the same slot are not automatically interchangeable upgrades.

If the tooltip is unsuitable, compare an already-owned quest or crafted item instead of farming a name on this list. No drop rate or guaranteed upgrade is promised.

Enchants and consumables for this role

For damage, compare weapon damage and offensive enchants against how soon you will replace the weapon. For tanking, assess stamina, armor, shield and defensive enchants separately. Carry food, bandages and a usable healing potion; consumables do not replace a healer or a safe pull.

Use Enchanting for formulas, Merchant's Favor for vendor requirements and Camping for non-stacking class buffs. Check item level, slot restrictions and temporary-effect compatibility before paying.

A practical macro template

#showtooltip Heroic Strike
/startattack [harm,nodead]
/cast [harm,nodead] Heroic Strike

This starts auto-attacks and attempts Heroic Strike on a living hostile target. It does not cast Charge, change stance or choose when Rage is worth spending.

This is English-client syntax, not an in-game Forever test. Replace spell names with the exact names from your own spellbook. Use the macro setup and troubleshooting guide for binding, target checks and limitations.

Data note and sources

Talent names and constraints come from the site's fixed 1.60.1.69876 snapshot. Build 1.60.1.70009 has been observed and Blizzard announced talent changes on September 24, so recheck before spending after an update.
