Druid Build

WoW Forever Druid Guide: Forms, Gear, Builds & Macros

Prepare a WoW Forever Druid for Cat, Bear, casting or healing with weapon rules, early gear sources, consumables and macros, plus archived talent plans.

Snapshot boundary: The beta is closed. The level-20/30 talent tables below are archived examples for fixed build 1.60.1.69876, not current level caps or verified level-60 builds. Role choices are editorial guidance; announced class mechanics have their own source.

Feral is the most flexible Druid leveling recommendation because Cat and Bear tools reduce caster-mana downtime while leaving healing available between pulls. Balance is the ranged option; Restoration is the dedicated healing path.

Choose the activity before choosing gear

ActivityPractical decision
Solouse the archived Feral example for Cat/Bear planning, with recovery and the correct form for each pull.
Dungeonagree on tank, healer or damage duties and keep role-specific equipment instead of one supposedly universal set.
PvPbalance movement, control and healing; a form change is a tactical choice and can have resource costs.

A Forever change worth checking

Blizzard says Cat, Bear and Dire Bear auto-attack DPS now uses the equipped weapon's DPS, with form-specific attack speeds. Weapon enchants and procs also work in form. Do not copy the Classic assumption that a Feral weapon is only a bundle of stats. Blizzard — class deep dive, announced mechanics.

Level 20 Feral build — 11 points

TalentRank
Ferocity5/5
Heart of the Wild5/5
Feral Charge1/1

The plan improves the shapeshifting foundation and adds a movement/control tool with exactly 11 points.

Level 30 Feral extension — 21 points

Keep the level-20 points, then add:

TalentAdded rank
Feral Swiftness2/2
Feral Instinct3/3
Savage Fury2/2
Sharpened Claws2/2
Leader of the Pack1/1

The extension reaches Leader of the Pack with a valid 21-point allocation. A tank-focused player can redirect points after testing which Bear tools the group actually needs.

Combat priority

  1. Apply long-duration buffs before shifting so repeated form changes do not waste mana.
  2. Use Cat Form for efficient damage when the pull is controlled.
  3. Use Bear Form when survival, control or dungeon tanking matters more than speed.
  4. Shift out to heal before Health becomes an emergency, then return to the appropriate form.
  5. Use Feral Charge to control position, not simply because it is available.

Gear direction

Feral weapon DPS now matters under Blizzard's announced form rules; do not treat the weapon as stats alone. Compare Agility, Strength, Stamina and the actual form's damage and survival needs. Keep separate caster/healing equipment when you regularly change group roles.

Use the Talent Calculator to compare Feral, Balance and Restoration.

Early gear sources and alternatives

These are lookup examples from the 42-item loot snapshot, reviewed September 24, not new October item testing or a BiS ranking. That dataset does not contain full attributes, class restrictions or confirmed boss attribution. Inspect the actual tooltip, trained weapon type and role before rolling; two items in the same slot are not automatically interchangeable upgrades.

If the tooltip is unsuitable, compare an already-owned quest or crafted item instead of farming a name on this list. No drop rate or guaranteed upgrade is promised.

Enchants and consumables for this role

For Feral, inspect weapon DPS, relevant attributes and form behavior together; keep caster/healing equipment for those roles. Many potions can be used while shifted according to Blizzard, but most Engineering bombs are exceptions. Check the exact consumable and enchant rather than assuming every item works in every form.

Use Enchanting for formulas, Merchant's Favor for vendor requirements and Camping for non-stacking class buffs. Check item level, slot restrictions and temporary-effect compatibility before paying.

A practical macro template

#showtooltip Rejuvenation
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Rejuvenation

This attempts Rejuvenation on a living friendly mouseover, then a friendly target, otherwise yourself. It contains no forced form cancellation; check form restrictions and mana before relying on it as an emergency heal.

Target priority is conditional, not a retry after a failed cast: an otherwise valid out-of-range mouseover still takes priority.

This is English-client syntax, not an in-game Forever test. Replace spell names with the exact names from your own spellbook. Use the macro setup and troubleshooting guide for binding, target checks and limitations.

Data note and sources

The allocation is tied to fixed snapshot 1.60.1.69876; this page does not claim final Cat or Bear damage rankings.
