WoW Forever Name Reservation: Dates & Naming Rules
Prepare for WoW Forever name reservation October 27–November 3: eligible upgrades, the three-character limit, two-part names and character creation checks.
Early Name Reservation runs October 27–November 3, 2026 for eligible Forever upgrade purchases. Blizzard allows creation and customization of up to three characters, with names allocated first come, first served. An upgrade does not guarantee your preferred name.
Who can reserve a name early?
The announced benefit is included with the Skyborne Heroic Pack and higher digital upgrades. Check the specific WoW account used for the purchase: the product footnote ties the benefit to that account, not automatically every game license under a Battle.net login.
Use Editions & Pricing to compare benefits. A subscription alone or an Invite-A-Friend launch code should not be treated as proof of early-reservation eligibility. For physical or regional offers, check the terms attached to your purchase.
What time does reservation open?
The reviewed announcements give the date range, but do not specify an exact opening hour. Do not infer midnight, a regional reset or the November launch hour. There is no reservation countdown here because a date-only window is not a verified timestamp.
Watch the official launcher and account notices near the opening date. This reservation period is separate from beta access and the global launch; it is not a promise of early leveling.
How do the two-part names work?
The complete first-name and second-name combination must be unique within your region. Another character sharing one part does not by itself make your full combination unavailable. Prepare several complete alternatives, not just several spellings of a first name.
Blizzard's naming policies apply to the combined name. Splitting a restricted expression across both fields is not a way around those rules. We do not publish guessed character limits, permitted-symbol lists or guaranteed “available names.”
What should my friends and I prepare?
- Confirm which game account has the benefit before creating characters.
- Agree on region, ruleset and faction with your group. A matching surname is only a theme; it does not bypass grouping restrictions.
- Make a short list of full-name alternatives and decide which three characters matter most. Do not assume the allowance multiplies per ruleset or region.
- When creation becomes available, review the final name and character choices carefully. Save any error text privately if the entitlement is missing.
This is a preparation checklist, not a claim that we have tested the still-future reservation interface. We have not verified deletion-and-reuse timing, rename rules or name-release behavior; do not delete a character on the assumption that a name immediately becomes available elsewhere.
Can I hide my second name?
Blizzard documents Escape → Options → Nameplates → My Secondary Name to hide it in the world. It still appears in chat. This display setting does not remove the two-name system or change availability.
What if my name is taken or rejected?
Try another full combination that follows the policy. If the problem is missing account access rather than a taken name, review your purchase and contact Blizzard Support. This site cannot reserve, unlock or check a name against Blizzard's live database.
